Jeff Roth Cycling Foundation Grants Improving Cycling in Our Communities.

Kickstand Bicycle Cooperative in Knoxville used a JRCF grant to help purchase two of these heavy duty outdoor tire pumps. The tire pumps are being placed next to repair stands previously installed around the city.

Smokey Mountain Wellness used a JRCF grant to purchase the equipment to lay out bike rodeo safety courses.

The Jeff Roth Cycling Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2019 Community Challenge Bike Grants. These grants encourage and support cycling as a safe, heathy, and fun form of recreation and transportation for all people in Tennessee communities.

Listed below are the grant recipients and the projects the grants funded in the 2019 grant cycle.

Appalachian Mountain Bike Club
Signs for improved EMS access to trails in the Baker Creek Preserve.

Athens TN Parks Foundation
Provides a public bicycle repair station at the Eureka Trail head.

Bike Walk Cleveland TN
Funds helmets and promotional materials for expansion of the Pop Up Ride program. This program teaches more families about the ease and safety of commuter cycling as a way for them to enjoy riding to and from key areas of  the community.

Hancock County TN Health Department
Funds equipment and educational materials for multiple bike rodeos. The bike rodeos include safety classes to teach area youth proper cycling technique.

Healthier TN Crossville & Cumberland County
Funds a public bike repair station and materials for bike wash area in Cumberland Mountain State Park.
Bike Walk Knoxville TN
Funds repair parts for their "Kids Love Bikes" program. The program provides disadvantaged youth with cycling safety and maintenance skills. By passing the course the students earn a refurbished bicycle.

Manchester TN Parks and Recreation Department
Funds replacement tires and tubes for the "Mud, Sweat, and Gears" after school bike club. The program was implemented in an effort to reduce the incidence of overweight, obesity, pre-diabetes and/or diabetes in middle school age students in the Manchester, TN area.

Chattanooga TN Bicycle Club
Provides funds for a "Cyclist Care Package." This care package consists of front and rear bicycle lights and other reflective items. The packages will be distributed by several agencies to people using bicycles for necessary transportation during hours of darkness. This will improve these cyclists safety.

Clinch Valley Trail Alliance, Oak Ridge, TN
Funds construction materials for a bike skills park to be constructed at Haw Ridge Park.

Friends of Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park
Provides funds for a public bicycle repair station to be installed at the park visitor center.

Highland Rim Bicycle Club, Tullahoma, TN
Funds the Bicycle Re-Cycle program. The program serves middle school students selected by the school system. The students are provided a repairable bicycle and a four day course on bicycle repair, maintenance, and cycling safety.

Walk Bike Nashville Bike Revivals
Provides tubes, lights, and helmets to school selected students of modest means to increase their cycling opportunities. Many of these students do not have other transportation to school so this program improves their attendance.
